A tale of passion and land
I’m Adriano Moretti and my life goes around wine. I am not the classic winemaker with a CV as a winemaker, but someone who rolls up his sleeves and deeply loves what he does. I live and breathe Roero every day, transforming this land into bottles that tell stories.
For me, wine is not a job; rather a lifestyle. Before becoming a winemaker, I tried a bit of everything: waiter, bartender, model, and even aspiring politician. At a certain point I was thinking of giving up everything and opening a restaurant in Australia with a group of friends. But then I looked better at what I had under my nose: the heritage of history, nature and tradition of my family. And so I decided to stop and put down roots, literally. It wasn’t always easy, especially with my father Giovanni, who always expected a lot from me, but who never let me lack his support, together with that of my entire family. Today I take care of the company, from the work in the vineyard and in the cellar, to welcoming visitors, up to marketing, taking care of every detail with the dedication of someone who is working for something bigger than himself. Ask me to talk about Roero and I’ll be like a river in flood!

Every vineyard a story,
every wine a tale
My approach to wine? Allow each vineyard to express itself. I prefer refinements in steel without exaggerating with wood: for me the wine must be fresh, pleasant, direct. I was among the first in the Roero area to use ceramic amphorae: today 60% of my production passes through these beauties. The amphora enhances the freshness and authentic character of the wine, leaving it free to be itself, just like me. In the end, my goal is simple: to bring the essence of this land into the glass, without filters, but with a lot of passion.
